Expand Canvas

Menu -> Image -> Expand Canvas

Expands the canvas area of the current window by a selected number
of pixels.

This increases the size of the image and is useful if you want to
create a "pasteboard" around the background image with the
color of your choice.

Expand Color

Click the color square to select the color of the new canvas that
will surround the existing image.

Expand sides equally
-
Increases all four sides by the same value.
