You can use this function to add an effect to your texture.
Layers -> New Layer From Background
You can convert the image background into a new layer. The image background is copied into a new selected layer and next the background is drawn transparent.

Layers -> Mask for Transparency
A mask for transparency is a grayscale image that you apply to a layer. You can use it to hide, display or fade parts of a layer, and so to create special effects.
The transparency is determined by the gray value. Where it is black, the layer is completely masked; where it is white, the layer is unmasked; where it is gray, the mask produces an effect of transparency.
The mask is merged with the bitmap in an alpha channel. You can also load or save the mask as a separate image on your hard disk. Other functions are available.
For more details, see mask for transparency editor.

Layers -> Save Layer as
Opens the Save dialog box to save the selected layer as a new image file.
If you want to save also the transparency mask, you will choose the Portable Network Graphics (PNG) file format.

Layers -> Edit Text Layer
The Text tool places text into an image. You can change the font, color and size of your text, align it, add a shadow, and fill it with a texture, interactively.
For more details, see Edit Text Layer description.

Change the order of the layers.
To move a layer up or down within the stack of layers, choose:

Layers -> Arrange -> Hide/Show Layer
The selected layer is hidden or shown.

Layers -> Arrange -> Delete

Layers -> Change Layer Name
You can change the name of the layer so that you can easily identify it.

Selection -> Make a Selection
To create a selection, drag your mouse over the image background. Once the dotted line area covers the area you want to select, release the mouse button. You can move or resize the selection area with the mouse. If a selection is active, you can not select a layer.

Selection -> Select All
Selects the entire image background.

Selection -> Deselect
Deselects the selected area in the image background.

Selection -> Crop to Selection
Cuts away unwanted portions of the image background.

Selection -> Convert to Layer
Creates a new layer from the current selection. This function is automatically executed if you click into the image menu or the effects menu.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> Flip Horizontal
The selected layer or image background is reversed horizontally. What was the left side becomes the right side, and what was the right side becomes the left.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> Flip vertical
The selected layer or image background is reversed vertically. What was the top becomes the bottom, and vice-versa.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> 180°
The selected layer or image background is rotated by 180 degrees.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> 90° Left
The selected layer or image background is rotated by 90 degrees anti-clockwise.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> 90° Right
The selected layer or image background is rotated by 90 degrees clockwise.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> 45° Left Seamless
The selected layer or image background is rotated by 45 degrees anti-clockwise with seamless correction.

Image -> Flip & Rotate -> 45° Right Seamless
The selected layer or image background is rotated by 90 degrees clockwise with seamless correction.

Image -> Free Transform
This command let you apply the transformations to a layer. You can scale horizontally, vertically, or both horizontally and vertically. You can turn a layer around a reference point. By default, this point is at the center of the layer; however, you can move it to another location. You can also skew while slanting a layer vertically and horizontally. For more details, see Transform description.

Image -> Transforming Perspective
The Transforming Perspective tool allows you to transform the perspective in an image. For more details, see Transforming Perspective description.

Image -> Spherize
Gives objects a 3D effect by wrapping a selection around a spherical shape. For more details, see Spherize tool description.

Image -> Deformation
Use this function to deform the texture. The image background or the selected layer will be distorted. For more details, see Deformation description.

Image -> Spread
You can fill the image background or the selected layer with their repeated contents. For more details, see Spread the image description.

Image -> Scrolling
You can scroll the image.
The bitmap inside the selected layer or image background is scrolled horizontally and/or vertically.

Image -> Auto Adjust
The brightness and the contrast will be automatically adjusted.

Image -> Adjust Colors
You can change the brightness, contrast, gamma, saturation and hue values of an image. Brightness represents the overall percentage of white in an image, contrast determines the amount of shading between areas, gamma is a measure of contrast and brightness, saturation is the purity of the hue and hue refers to tint. For more details, see Adjust Colors description.

Image -> Colors Change
You can recolor the image.

Image -> Replace Colors
The replace colors lets you replace one color with another. Depending on the range you set, you can replace one color or shift an entire image from one color range to another. You can set the hue, saturation and lightness for the new color.
For more details, see Replace Colors description.

Image -> Color Balance
The color balance tool modifies the color balance of the selected layer or the image background.
For more details, see Color Balance description.

Image -> Modify Fill Color
You can modify the fill color of the image background or the selected layer.
For more details, see Modify Fill Color description.

Image -> Equalize Brightness
Equalize Brightness correction darkens and lightens sections of an image to equalize the level of brightness.
For more details, see Equalize Brightness description.

Image -> Curves
A very powerful way of correcting exposure problems is to use the Curves tool. This tool allows you to click and drag control points on a curve, in order to create a function mapping input brightness levels to output brightness levels. The Curves tool can replicate any effect you can achieve with the Adjust Colors tool or the Levels tool, so it is more powerful than either of them. Once again, we refer you to the Curves Tool description, but the easiest way to learn how to use it is by experimenting.

Image -> Levels
A more sophisticated, and only slightly more difficult, way of correcting exposure problems is to use the Levels tool. The dialog for this tool looks very complicated, but for the basic usage we have in mind here, the only part you need to deal with is the "Input Levels" area, specifically the three triangular sliders that appear below the histogram.
We refer you to the Levels Tool description for instructions; but actually the easiest way to learn how to use it is to experiment by moving the three sliders around, and watching how the image is affected.
(Make sure that "Preview" is checked into the dialog box.)

Image -> Make Seamless
Prepares an image for use as a tiled background. You can blend the edges of an image to create a seamless texture.
For more details, see Make Seamless description.
